Editorial policy
Editorial & Evidence Policy
The site separates what a profile looks like from what a specific replacement is proven to fit.
Core rules
- Use public source evidence for terminology, profile family and product-specific claims.
- Keep observed geometry and user measurements separate from manufacturer fit statements.
- Preserve uncertainty instead of filling missing dimensions or compatibility with assumptions.
- Use one canonical page for an intent rather than creating thin synonym pages.
- Label original diagrams as schematic references when they are not exact product depictions.
Exact fit requires more evidence
A generic family match, a shared word such as “kerf,” or a similar cross-section is not enough to establish exact replacement compatibility, supersession or OEM identity.
Corrections

Page design principle
Visitor guidance should lead with observable cues, measurements and next actions. Internal record identifiers or data-field names are secondary provenance, not the primary explanation of a weatherstrip profile.
