Marvin Essential Bulletin 830: ordering-code changes

Explain a dated parts-ordering history without presenting a historic SKU as currently orderable. See the evidence checklist and fit limits.

Short answer. Marvin's Essential Casement parts history refers to Product Bulletin 830 at a specific ordering change on 2022-04-21: it removed listed part numbers for weatherstrip profiles V3229 and V147, directing configured parts through OMS, while discontinued limited-availability items retained part-number ordering. Removal of V147 from that published part-number list is not evidence that the V147 sash seal was discontinued. This is an ordering-history statement, not a promise that any past SKU can still be purchased.

Read the part history in date order

Date shown in Marvin's product history What changed for an owner or parts researcher
2021-04-01 The frame weatherstrip changed from V189 to a continuous V3229 profile.
2022-02-28 Sash and frame weatherstrip became orderable as configured parts in OMS; history cites Bulletin 822.
2022-04-21 Marvin removed published part numbers for V3229 and V147 from the listed ordering pathway and referenced Bulletin 830; certain discontinued limited-availability parts remained tied to part numbers.
2022-06-27 Essential weatherstrip transitioned to black; beige remained documented for warranty/service needs, with Bulletin 834 referenced.

Separately, printed page 16, “Weather Strip — Discontinued No Availability,” lists the frame profiles V189 and V3229 as no longer available and identifies the dated replacement chain V189 → V3229 → V03477. That p16 discontinued/no-availability classification belongs to V189 and V3229, not to V147. It does not establish that the replacement fits any particular unit without a configured-part check.

If a repair note has an old part number

  1. Write down the exact printed SKU and the unit's date, without assuming a number on an older invoice matches a current catalog item.
  2. Identify whether the note refers to a sash or frame position. Printed page 15 depicts V147 as a sash weatherstrip and V03477 as a frame weatherstrip in the configured-parts section; page 16 separately lists earlier V3229/V189 frame profiles as unavailable. Do not conflate those positions or their ordering histories. [NP02_FX02_NW0096_C0007;]
  3. Gather Marvin's required configured-order information: unit type, handing, exterior color, width and height, plus sash-strip component location where applicable.
  4. Compare the original unit's part history with Marvin's latest issuer document. A historical replacement notation is not enough to validate the current material, size, form or service authorization.

What Bulletin 830 does not establish

The visible parts-history PDF references Bulletin 830; that mention is not a direct review of the standalone bulletin, nor a current OMS availability check. In particular, the 2022 removal of the published V147 ordering number must not be turned into a claim that V147 itself was discontinued. Do not claim that a distributor stocks V147/V3229 by number, or that V03477 is a universal drop-in replacement for every earlier Essential Casement. Keep the unit's configuration and vendor confirmation as separate evidence.
